Post Fumes in cab poll

Please post if you have had ANY kind of fumes in the cab of your 3rd gen truck.
List what area you live in as well as if its tolerable or not.
I spoke to a Defects Inspector with Transport Canada and the only way they can do anything is if its something that occurs without warning and is a safety issue.
Since we obviously get a warning by smelling it in the cab, we need to establish how wide spread this is...or not.

I am currently working on a special filtration kit for these trucks.

Thanks for your input.

Scotty

I have 15000 miles on it and have changed oil 3 times. All 3 times I have ran the mopar stuff from the dealership. I dont know what it is but I have never smelt anything out of the ordinary caused buy an oil change. I live in Iowa (the big corn feild in the middle of the country). I had always ran Rotela in my 2nd gen and never had any isuse with odor caused buy the oil. One of these next oil changes I plan to switch over to Rotela in this truck as well, I guess Ill find out if it smells then. If so I will just continue to run the Mopar stuff.

No problems beyond normal diesel exhaust that gets in the cab while parked and cold. Turn the air to Recirculate and all is well. Once moving I can switch back to outside air.

I had bad diesel fumes in my truck, took it to the dealer and found out one of my injector lines was loose. They fixed it and all has been well since.

I only seem to have the "Fumes Smell" when the engine is below normal operating temperature.

For example when I start it cold at the first couple of stops I can smell the "fumes" not a diesel exhaust smell but more of a mix of oil / diesel smell.

I am betting it is a blowby smell originating from the vent tube.

Only time I have a engine smell inside the cab is after changing oil (Rotella T). Last for about a week or so.

Mine is mostly when cold and standing still., like others said. Mostly seems to go away upon moving down the road.

Yup, I got the fumes, bad. Its a hot oil smell, definately from the crankcase vent. I only get it when pumping "fresh" air into the cab at a stop or slow speed, or with the windows open. With the last oil change I used Pennzoil Long Life and the fumes were bad until I had about 500 miles on the new oil. Now the fumes are still there but its tolerable. However, any fumes in the cab are unacceptable to me. Next oil change i am going to the dealer and have them sit in the stink and see what they say.

I have 11,500 miles and have changed the oil 3 times w/ Delo 400. The blow by odor decreased after the first oil change to Delo but is still noticable when stopped and fan is on. I will be glad to join any class action . Just kidding - I know you are trying to come up w/ a filter solution. Dodge should pay for it though.
