My truck is in the shop right now and the rail pressure sensor is suspect. I was told that a new one costs about $600 from Cummins. It is on the top of the rail towards the firewall. Look at some of the install manuals for chips Quadzilla, Edge, ect. They generally have photos in them showing the location of the sensor. Most of the manuals can be found on the chip manufacturers website. Hope this helps.

I don't know how much they cost but it is a small sensor mounted on the fuel rail directly behind the aluminum intake manifold of the engine on the driver's side.

They're about 190.00 around here, I can give you info on how to get them if you PM me. If you have a OTR shop, they can usually get them for our engines, just have your engine model and serial #s.

Those things must have sky-rocketed in price since I bought mine. I paid the local Freightliner shop less than $100 about 2 years ago.

Is it the rail sensor or the rail release valve? I just had both replaced.
