Fuel pump failure?

Getting the fuel line off is a piece of cake. Nothing to it.

Not to throw a wet rag in the works but I worked for about 2 hours trying to get the fuel line loose from the tank. I could squeeze the clips but could not pull on the line while holding the clips. The clips stay with the tank and not on the line. I tried many tricks, wire around the clips, wire tie straps and all the tricks that were listed in the forum. I lowered the tank a few inches and still could not get it off. Finally cut the fuel line and then dropped the tank.

Thanks papaduck. Sounds like something that would happen to me. Newpaper report will probably say "older fat guy gets arm stuck while sniffing fuel".
