Lift Pump Failure & Fuel Lubricity?

I keep seeing topics on lift pump failures on this site. I was wondering if the lack of lubricity in the fuel is the culprit behind these failures? I drive a semi and always use power service or some other brand of added lubricant to my fuel and never had pump problems. I do the same in my 03 Ram with 60,000 miles and no problems so far. Why not have a poll taken on this issue? just my 2 cents.

When you start a new thread, the bottom section will ask if you want to post a poll. Click the box and then fill in the choices you want.

P.S. I really don't think that people are seeing the large numbers of lift pump failures that the large number of lift pump threads might suggest. I'm sure there have been failures, but it's not an epidemic. FWIW.

Maybe not an epidemic but would three on one truck be considered a small outbreak?

From what I gather from reader posts is that most of the failures were in Canada. Someone also said that (I think for 04) that the have a more reliable pump. I think folks are still having failures but not as much. I do use Howes most of the time, sometimes Stanadyne, and sometimes PS.
