I've got almost 3000 miles on mine, 70/30 City/Highway driving, and I've been averaging 18.5 Ofcourse, it might be better, if I could resist dipping into the power well so often ;D<br>I cant wait 'till someone makes some electronic &quot;bombs&quot; for our trucks. (I really dont want to do the injector thing yet) Just snapping a computer chip in and you're ready to go... ;D<br><br> Cat Cracker.

 

Bluedresser, every time I drive to my house when I leave the county road I go from the elevation changes from 2000 ft to 3400 ft. There is a one mile section where there is an average grade is 14%. If Bambi's mom stays off the road I can come out of a curve to start this climb doing 25mph in 4th gear. By giving light throttle, without lugging my SO Calif version, it accellerates all the way to the top. Of course the 4.10 axle helps. Every gasser had to downshift on this grade, but not my 2003 CTD.<br><br>These are real winners in the mountains.

 

My truck has 3100 miles on it. I have not figured the gas milage just used the computer mpg reading.<br> My driving sounds like Sierra Phils except no mountains around here. I take it easy when driving.<br> Running empty the computer has never read below 20 mpg for combination driving running empty. Pulling the trailer just about cuts the milage in half running around 70 mph.<br> If I slow down to 55mph with the trailer the mileage creeps up a little. Driving 55 mph on the freeways around here you are a hazard to the roadway. Following Dodges break in rules for pulling 55 mph the first 500 miles was scary on the highways around here.<br> The good thing about running faster pulling the trailer with the 3.73's is I rarely have to shift on the (small) hills here in North Central Texas.<br> Just for comparison I had a 2000 &amp; 2001 F-350 CC SWB 7.3 auto. The Dodge seems to beats the Ford by a couple of mpg pulling and a little more than that running empty. Also the Dodge runs circles around the Ford's I had in overall driving while pulling. Of course I might be comparing apples to oranges since I never had a Ford dooley with a standard transmission.<br> FWIW Randy

 

6500+ total miles. Good mix of city, highway, and medium towing. I would guess 1000 city, 3500 highway, and 2000 towing, with highway and towing speeds always between 68-70mph. Total calculated mpg to this point is 17.69, while the overhead computer average thus far (I reset and check at every fill-up) is 17.80.
