fuel leak??

i been driving my truck maybe 2 times a month. but i feel retarted with a leak. when its cold out i start the truck and the truck just starts 1000 rpm for warm up. then about below the fuel filter area fuel hust leaks for about 20 seconds then just stops. then the next time i start it it may not leak or it may. its a hit and miss. but i have watched from underneath several times and can not trace this leak out. i change my filter out every other oil change.

any ideas to help to me since im mechanically declined

I had a leak fro somewhere in that area too. Double check the fuel canister cap is on snug. The rubber o-ring in there probably contracts and creates enough of a break in the seal it leaks at the cap. Also check the fuel lines running to and from. Might be seeping where the metal fittings joint the rubber (plastic?) hose.

I snugged the canister cap and wiped the area. I haven't seen an increase in the size of the wet area on the frame rail so I think the cap may have been it.
