Big ooops on my part...the socket I used was a 30MM (not a 22MM), so that's why it was a little sloppy. I'll be using my 1 1/8" from this point fwd. 25ft lb sounds a little stout to me. The Fleetguard box indicates that a socket should NOT be used to tighten the lid (hand tighten). I do use the socket to snug it down all the way though.

How many miles do people think the air filters live for? Mine's looking pretty sorry after 11k, and I'm thinking I should probably just change both at this point. The truck doesn't seem quite as fast as I remember it being a few thousand miles ago, and my mileage doesn't seem as good as it was a thousand or two miles ago.

What year is your truck?

Mine is a 2003 and a 6 point 1-1/8" is a perfect fit.
