frontend squeak on turns

frontend squeak on turns

Hi I am getting a nasty squeak when turning it is getting worse fast.Going to clean out brakes tommorow any other thoughts.

I bet axle u-joint... That is what mine did.. If you get under the truck and look at the ujoint you may see one dry and rusty...

I was lucky when mine were squeaking as all I had to do was put my hubs in Free-Spin and squeak went away... Made it real easy to rule out my ball joints. Ramcam could try and pull his front shaft to see if the squeak goes away to troubleshoot exact cause.

Well it looks like the passenger side has movement at 6 and 12 oclock.Took the brakes out both side and cleaned them they seem fine.Movement is axle u joint ? or bearing?

You mean if you grab the tire at the top and bottom it has slop, but not front to back?

If that's the case I'd think ball joints. Maybe someone can rock the tire around while you look/feel to isolate what's moving.

Ok double checked with help.I can see movement on the upper ball joint.Nothing front to back.Anyway to quiet the squeak till i fix it?

I guess you couldn't hurt anything if you were to squirt some leithium grease on it and see what happens.
