Front Universal

With 78K I think I heard the from U joint creak a little. I have read that the NAPA HD are pretty good. How hard are they to change? Any tips?

are you talking the u joint on the axle or the front drive shaft ??????? axle is a pita thats why i let the dealer do mine for free o yeah, btw, had the front driveshaft replaced that way too !

Not sure. I put it 4 wheel and it clumked on the front left, I think. That is the only time it did it. I assume it is the U joint.

It is the u joint on the front drivers wheel. How hard is it to change?

I just had mine changed. I was going to do them myself but could not get the hubs off. A local diesel shop did mine. They had to cut the stock hubs out with a torch!! Luckily I had decided to do the free spin hubs before attempting this. I would have some hubs on hand if you are going to attempt this. Also be sure that ball joints and tie rod ends do not need replacement. Now is the time to do them if needed.

Did both of mine @ about 40k dont use a puller on the hub press it out from behind using the power steering. The first one was a real pita till I figured it out the second one was much easier.
