I would just take the 30 minutes and look with shaft off and make sure. But that's just me.
I agree 100%. I would not trust some dealership's opinion regarding this stupid fitting. Guys have posted up here about the service guys doing regular maintainance work on their trucks and not knowing about this thing. If I truely could not find it I would personnally take the driveline off and give it a good look. I bet it's there. I found mine and lube it at every oil change with a needle adaptor...it's a real pain in the a$$!

I just crawled under mine (just got the 06). Looking in the 4 corners of the area of the joint shown in the photos, I saw one corner had a machined recess, which led me to the grease fitting.

Somehow I don't think getting grease in it is going to be as easy as find it was.

I do happen to have the correct fitting, though.

I've got some synthetic grease in the grease gun LGPI rated GC-LB for both chassis and wheel bearing use... Is this OK to use here?

You can also, pick and hold on the inverted triangle to the right of the back arrow and move your pointer down the list to the page you want to go back to.

I have a fitting similar to what torquefan shows. I did have to cut mine and rethread one end to make it work. It's a real biotch to get a good angle on that dang thing. I usually hit it with air to clean it and then "attempt" to grease it. Pretty stupid design. Bad thing is I know I'm the only guy in the shop that has this tool.

This is the hypo needle that I use. I push the needle hard enought to move the little ball out of the way and the needle slips into the hole.

You keep saying the correct one won't work and other guys keep saying the smaller needle one does work. I think I'll go with the wrong one...that does work!
