Ford to Dodge???
Skeet - I traded my 2001 F250 powerstroke and the only thing I can say that I miss is the size of the back seat. Of course now I can turn corners, nothing leaks yet and my tranny still works which are all the reasons I got rid of the Ford.
Don't know where you are, but a dealer in st louis advertises on this site and sells below invoice (Tommygun you still out there?). At the time they gave me top dollar for the Ford (dealer also owns Ford dealerships) and a great deal on the Dodge. Look around and I think you should be able to find a really good deal and I don't think you'll regret it!

You know what is funny? It is safe to assume that most guys that make fun of another brand have NEVER owned one before. So, how can one make an assumption without having any experience owning one? Oh yeah..."My friend owns one, my Dad owns one, my neighbor owns one" blah blah blah. I have owned all 3, Ford, Chevy and now the Dodge, and while yet too early really to give out an opinion on how the Dodge will hold up, so far so good. But I will tell you this, all 3 have their quirks/problems good points/bad points. Yeah, I may have 3 Chrysler products in my stable now, but my wife and I have had 3 Chevy trucks and 1 Z28, 2 Ford trucks and a slew of Mustangs, 1 Dodge truck and 2 Dodge Challengers, 3 Toyota's (Camry, Corolla and a 4 Runner) a Honda Accord, an Olds Cutlass, and a Jeep GC. And after owning all of those, I can not tell you which manufacturer I like the best. Let the arguments start
I just jumped the fence into dodge land
I just did this, went from a 99 F-350 DRW to the 04.5 quad DRW both 4X4.
I like the CTD engine much better then the powerstroke. The CTD has better low RPM torque then my powerstroke ever did. I tryed may chips and programs in the ford but could never get any low end torque.
AS for the truck It stops stright. My ford the brakes were so so at best. It is quiet, it rides nice it holds the 2100 pounds of pin weight well, The only down side i can see is the smaller back seat and IM not sure how long the Auto trans will hold up i guess we will see. i had mine sence dec. 3 I bought it with 42K miles on the clock and so far so good.PS: it is going into the shop for a new CP3 and lift pump in a week or so when they get the parts. Traded in my 04 6.0 in Oct. 2004 and got my 04.5 Dodge 600 3500 Laramie 4x4 Auto SWB Every option but nav. for 34,000 Out the door and it stickered for 47,595 so go from there if it helps, Oh yeah got the exact amount 34,500 for the ford i traded in so just swapped them out
My only real issue is topping off the tank is near impossible without a fuel can. I can add 6 gallons after pump clicks off.
Do a search here to find out how to order.
