Flushing the radiator

Can anybody give me any advice on flushing the radiators in our trucks?

How often? Any particular product?

My truck is an 04.5 that I purchased at the end of July 04. 38,000 miles.

Should I be doing something around the 2 year mark? Also, what do you recommend for replacing hoses and the serpentine belt? I have had no problems, that I am aware, with any of them. Thanks.

Check the PH in your coolant. You should get a couple hundred thousand out of it with additives. Hoses these days should last 10 years. Serp belt depends on wear, cracking etc. Mine is still original.

I've flushed mine once in 96k miles. If you do it, I recommend that you go and buy the thermostat from dodge. It's going to cost a pretty penny but it's worth it. I bought one from o'reilly's and it didn't open up until 220* and then it'd drop and climb right back up. Put one in from dodge and it won't go over 190* now.

Ok, I guess based on these comments I will just leave it alone for now. Thanks!

When I flush the cars I just use new coolant mixed 50/50 with water, drain it, and add new coolant mixed 50/50 with water. Target has Prestone extended life stuff for about $6 a gallon, and distilled water is less than $1 a gallon. I planned on doing the same in the truck, using the correct coolant (zerex g05 or something).
