I haven't done the differentials or transfer yet but just did my NV5600 on Thursday and all I could get in it was 4 quarts. I drove it about 100 miles yesterday so now I will crawl under and check the level this weekend.
When I put the 4th quart in it started running out the fill hole as I was hitting the bottom of the bottle.

Spreadsheet info I've kept on my 04 2500 with 6spsd, 3.73 rear 4x4 since Jan 2004.
Engine Oil (11 Qts/ 12 w/filter)
Man. Trans. NV 5600 ( 6 Spd 9.5 pts/4 qts)
Frt & Rear Axle (3.73) (up to 5 pts frt & 8pts rear/8 qts)
Transfer Case (up to 5pts/3qts)
Just did the rear end and transmission last Friday evening and it was 4 quarts in each with oil just dripping out of trans and about 1/4 inch below rear fill line.

I used Royal Purple Synchromax as it was listed as fitting the part number and the MS #. Redline had MTL listed but I have read where people have not received a satisfactory answer on using AMSOIL.
I emailed Royal Purple and asked how I would be able to show that they met the OEM requirement and they replied that if DC was a problem then they would stand up for their oil as long as it wasn't contaminated or low when the failure occured.
When I changed out the tranny I jacked up the rear end so the truck was a little nose down and let it drain for about 2 hours. Then I filled it up while it was in the same position. Drained the oil into a 5 quart jug and it only came up to about the 4 quart level.

Amsoil does not make a Tranny fluid for the 6spd. The tech line recommends motor oil?
That's why I run the Redline MTL.
I don't jack up the vehicle, just roll around underneath. The PTO bolt is already at the lowest point of the transmission.
