Talking Fix to 48re 1-2 hunt

Just thought that I would let people know it looks like Dodge has a cure for our 1-2 trans shift issue.

Does it really work? That TSB is 9 months old and people are still having the issue.

So is this a recall by Dodge, or only a repair under warranty?

I just checked for recalls on my truck and I only have one...

"OUT-OF-PARK ALARM SYSTEM"

Is that the one where your horn honks while your in reverse? has anyone else bothered with this recall? Any suggestions?

It's a TSB, which means if you go in and complain enough they'll do the fix.

I complained as my truck was having the problem. Warranty covered it and problem is gone. I'm happy.

It worked on mine, too. For a while, anyway, they did it a second time and it seems to be holding up. These trucks drive nice when the transmission shifts right!

Mine didn't start hunting until the solenoid went bad. Once Dodge replaced it, I had the hunting problem. It makes me wonder if they have a "bad" batch of solenoids, and if so, how are they tracking them?

I have/had/have again, the same problem on my 05 and specifically did not buy the Dodge solenoid. I changed it out in Sept. After installed I had zero 1-2 shift hunts until about a month ago. I did buy a transducer which I didn't install at that time and now I am suspect that I should have put that in. I am thinking that the transducer is an important piece to this puzzle. I still think the 48re transmissions suck.
