Fitting on top of oil filter housing....

Can this be used for an oil pressure guage? I've had a brand new guage sitting on my toolbox for 4 years and I'm tired of looking at it. It won't match any of the other guages but who cares.......

Thats the fitting I used for my oil pressure sender. Had to use a couple of 1/8" npt extention fittings to get it to work. One very interesting thing I've found is that when I fire my Cummins, the stock guage shows pressure almost instantly, while the Autometer takes about 3 seconds to show pressure. Takes awhile to refill and pressurize that oil filter and top of engine. Reminds me to take it easy those first few seconds...

there are also 2 ports on the left side of the engine [one below cp3, one above ecm] that you can use as pressure ports off the main lube oil gallery. they are straight metric o-ring seal fittings. M10x1.0 are the threads. that is where i have my pressure coming from. i am saving the filter pad port for oil temp

Drew,
The only thing the engine sensor does is see 7 psi; basically a switch.
After that the programming takes over and runs the oil psi with the rpms.

Can this be used for an oil pressure guage?
I hope so... it's where I have my Autometer pressure sender screwed into (as well as the oil supply for my top turbo)

The Autometer sender fits in there directly - I didn't need any adapters (I used the port closest to the passenger fender - the inner port is used to feed the turbo, with the stock turbo supply feeding the bottom turbo)

I use the top port too for a direct feed -3AN line to inside the cab for a mechanical ISSPRO oil pressure gauge. ~25 psi hot idle, 65 psi hot cruise.

I tried the electrical ISSPRO gauge, but gave up after it kept on going TU. FYI, the electrical ISSPRO read "somewhat close" to the mechanical readings.

Next gauge to install is the SPA dual rail pressure / oil pressure gauge sitting on my coffee table (will use the oil pressure channel though for turbo drive pressure).
