I`m sort of on a soap box now that dodge has denied warranty on my 06, but anyway. I`ve heard stories on all three diesel trucks having warranty denied for bad fuel, wrong filters, etc. Why don`t they put a super filter system on the fuel & air from the factory. I`ve seen people run heavy equipment in dust where you have to clean the air filter twice a day. Ask a farmer about a combine. If the filter system from the factory won`t protect the engine, something`s wrong. I understand if you went in with the air filter sucked into the engine or sludge in the fuel tank but come on this is ridicules. I have to say that dodge is the worst. GM & ford have a pretty good air filter.

Ford and GM went with the donaldson core type filter several years ago. Don't know why the dealers are killing warranties so much lately. They tried to do it to a buddies truck. Right at 100k the motor started using a CRAP load of oil. Like 3 quarts in 180 miles! Took it in, and they said that the motor was dusted. EVERYTHING STOCK on this truck. He said F.U. that is a MOPAR air filter and if it is dusted then it is your problem. They ended up installing a new motor and he got it back last week.

Pretty simple really.

You take your truck in and the dealer says sorry, you'll have to pay and you say Okay, and hand him $5,000.

Why wouldn't the dealer deny your warranty????

See, your buddy was not the norm. He knew his rights, and he stuck up for himself. You may as well figure the first answer most people will get is NO WARRANTY, and if that works for them, then Dodge just saved a ton of money.
