Fass

Can anyone tell me where I can purchase a Fass lift pump in the Fort Worth TX area? My pump went out and I was hoping to pick up a Fass as soon as possible.

Now that i look at it i dont think its the fass's fault. Well it is their fault but anyway. Their wiring instructions tell you to tap into the power distribution center screwing up the contact on the fuse to the power center so i dont think it was getting enough voltage sometimes. Going down the road i could hear it cutting off and on. So yesterday i bought a relay and hooked it up that way, i used the alternator for my 12V supply so now i dont have to worry about voltage loss. But my contact for the fuse i used is ruined. Im going to have to figure out how to get it back in working order. The contacts for the fuse are fubar. Also the fuse they tell you to use (for an 06 anyway) has power in the run position as well as the accessory position. Thats aggrevating to try to listen to the radio on accessory and all you hear is the pump humming.

We now have a new harness that runs directly to the tank plug at the top of the sending unit. What i had to do on Brads truck was brake out the solder gun and put a dab of solder on the blade of the fuse to make it fatter. Holdes and works fine. Suggestion at least.

Thanks diesel dan i will try that. I was going to try to take the whole powercenter apart but that looks kind of not promosing that it will work properly after i get done with it. I ran my own relay and now it works flawlessly. The problem was those pesky fuse tap connectors, and fass is not the only one to use these aggrevating things. Glad they came up with a better way to get power to the thing it will save people alot of aggrevation and diagnosing.

Quick Fass question....

After doing the following step from the instructions, does that "factory line" just hang loose ? Doesn’t say to cut it, plug it, tie it off, etc... nothing ?

"Disconnect factory fuel line from inlet side of the factory injection pump and
install the injection pump o’ring fuel fitting into this inlet port."

for a 2003 5.9l

Do what you feel you need to do for future use. Mine is just loose, uncovered...as i will never use my stock lines again. If you feel that you will go back to stock someday, you might bag them up.

Remember to drain the stock filter head of you might get some leaks.

This is why I'm asking. Leaks.
The factory line connector end looked moist, so I dried it off nicely, started truck, then it was wet again...

The stock filter housing was drained, but when I opened up the drain valve yesterday, more fuel came out.. Maybe wasn't drained properly or lines installed wrong ? Will double check this tonight.

Truck runs ok, just will not start if it has sat overnight (sometimes only after 2-3 days), seems like air is leaking into fuel system somewhere, it just cranks, and cranks...
