LOUD new "whistle" noise?

What now. Came down off the freeway and had a loud whistle. Sounds like a BIG vacume leak but I guess I don't have vacume so how about a pressure leak? Problem is it is quiet by the time I pull in the driveway. Can't get it to make a sound in the driveway. Drove it locally, now sound. Son drove it down the freeway a few miles and I heard the whistle from the end of the block but was completely quiet by the time he made it to the driveway? I hate it when I can't make it make it's new whistle in the drive. Coming down off the freeway I could hear it above the radio, windows up, ac on... It was pretty loud. Any thoughts?

Didn't see any rocks or holes in the intercooler, hoses seems tight?

Mine started doing the same thing. I had a broken strap right behind the turbo. $1.50 clamp and I have been fine since. Mine is also 03.

Also, it seems like there was a TSB about some piece of trim that could catch wind and whistle?

Edit:

Here's one

I remember another one about something up by the grille...

Definately not a trim whistle. It tracks with the engine speed..

I'll check the clamps this evening.

Whistle found.

Not too long before I noticed the whistle my truck "back fired" when I started it one morning. Never happened before or since so I thought no more about it. When it backfired, it blew the top off the the little guage on the air filter. Whistle was apparently from air coming in through the broken filter guage. Just noticed it this weekend. Taped it off with duct tape and haven't heard the whistle since..

Make sure to get that fixed ASAP, if that duck tape gets sucked in I would not want to see the turbo after that. Remember that the gauge hole is after the filter so it will suck unfiltered air.

Yep, I guess I need to get another one if for no other reason than to plug the hole. Maybe just silicone the top back on and not worry about the function of the guage (found most of the parts). Curious why it back fired in the first place. Hopefully it won't do it again.
