Factory Shop manual - CD - Question

I was going to order the 2006 factory shop manual on CD, but the gal from the chrysler 1-800 number said the CD would not work on Microsoft Windows XP - Word. Does anyone know what program you run the CD with?

That doesn't sound right, as much as I dislike Microsoft it is the standard OS. I will be ordering my CD soon. Let me know if there is a problem. I'm sure someone has an answer to this one.

The files should be in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. Will work with MS OS's, just need to download the package if not already.

Thanks, I kinda suspected they were in PDF, I have a full up version of Adobe 6.0 so should be good to go. Do you have the CD, are you happy with it or would you rather have a hard copy?

I have the CD. Can print the page needed, get it all greasy and toss when done. Can't do that with a hardcopy version.

But, with the book you don't have to keep cleaning up and coming inside if you need another page. I have the CD and like it but I would have preferred the book...

I little grease on the pages keeps them from falling apart...

At my shop I had the key board wrapped in saran wrap to keep the keys from getting all oily and greasy from my mechanics. It works out really well, when the saran wrap gets really bad just unwrap and throw it away, then put on a new layer of saran wrap.

An authentic CD-Rom costs about the same as the book.

I just looked at tech authority....

Print manual: $385

CD Manual: $90

Having a manual you can get greasy over & over again....priceless!!!!
