extended warranty

Got a card in the mail today from chrysler saying that my warranty will soon expire & offered me the chance to purchase extended warranty.

With all the claims that are turned down by dodge/chrysler claiming bad fuel, etc., do you guys thing the extended warranty would be worth it ?

I'm in the warranty business and I didn't take it. If it helps you sleep at night go for it.

It's a gamble. When you buy it, you're betting the truck will break down. When they sell it, they'r ebetting it won't.

Place your bets, take your chances.

I bought the extended warrenty on my used truck.

I had the Chrysler warranty on my truck simply to cover lift pump issues, after the original OEM warranty was gone. It came in handy twice. I did not renew with Chrysler because it was just too expensive for an 02 with 36,000 on it at the time. I did end up purchasing an extended warranty offer from CarChex. The Elite plan seems to cover what I felt like I needed. I definitely wanted something to cover the injector pump and the wheel hub assemblies (bearings), after paying for the wheel hubs on my wife's GMC Sierra. Just not simpy packing the bearings anymore......

I bought the extended warranty back in 04. I have used it since the 80000 km regular warranty expired. I just had the whole front end rebuilt. Ball joints, u joints, 08 steering rods, pitman arm, and damper. I had front ujoints also done at 90000 km earlier on as well. So for the grand u dished out I would say it easily paid for itself although it was fixed with junky Dodge parts LOL.

I bought it too. It has long since paid for itself with all the front end work I've had done. Also had the trans rebuilt, along with a new TC at about 36002 miles, long before the Smarty Jr.
