If you happen to be using your truck for business, DC was offering $500 toward the cost of the Jacobs brake if purchased when new. Ask your dealer for a certificate.

I paid $1,492.50 installed without the certificate mentioned above.

Also, if anyone in the family will have difficulty getting into the truck without running boards/nerf bars check out the Automobility incentive. It paid $400 toward the cost of running boards.

Wish I would of known that when I bought the truck Oh well, I'm expecting to pay around 1100 for the e-brake (Jacobs) and another 100-150 for install.

How hard is it to install it yourself? It looks fairly simple?

I think it all depends on your mechanical skill level. I think it is fairly involved, somewhat because of the vacuum pump which has to be installed with the Jacobs.

You can go to the Jacobs Web site and download the install procedure in a pdf file.
