First off I havent drove the truck sence last thanksgiving. It has sat untouched in the garage all winter. A couple weeks ago I went out and servised it but did not start it. I did fuel filter as well. Today I have an appointment to get teh trani fixed cause it had started acting up last fall before I parked it. Saturday I had gone out and started it to make sure it dident have dead batteries. Everything was fine but aperently when I went back out to shut it off I dident get teh key off all the way. Yesterday the batteries where all but dead. It dident have enough in them to turn it over so I put the charger on it for several hours. Today I go to leave and the engine light is on. I figure its most likely cause of th dead batteries but I cant remember how to get it to spit out the codes. How do I get teh codes out of it?

 

Key on/off on/off on/off on.......possibly one too many on/offs

 

Thanks. They cleared the light for me while they were putting the torque converter in it today so now theres no light. I hope it was just a result of dead batteries.

 

Don't focus on the check engine light. Focus on the code or codes that caused the CEL to come on.

 

I asume they cleared the codes or is there a memory of codes even after they are cleared?
