Engine hours vs. mileage on odometer
I purchased mine from a hotshotter and use it for delivery of test equipment on the East coast.I also have a military truck hobby/addiction.I would like to to 20K on the hrmeter.Mine runs great, but probably will do injectors before winter.Reading these posts about meltdowns ect makes me paranoid. My boss used it to do a quick run to town last week.He asked where I found a low mileage truck??He says 39K miles is low for an 04.I said you better look at the odo again.Thats 397,000,not 39,700! Previous owner said no injector cleaners,or fuel additives and only used Rotella.
no,orig tranny. His records indicate filters and fluid.I wanted a flush and band adjust.Hired the flush and did band myself.Really made a big difference.Orig owner said that alternator is orig, and most are done by now and recommended a dealership replacement.I may come winter when I do injectors. It has had 1 axle joint, headlight sw and a lift pump.Lift was done as a preventive measure.Has had the maint items, brake pads ect.I pulled 8k today for a good pull.I think it really helps them.Something I do wonder about...he said never to pull even a camper in overdrive unless on flat road? What do you think? It has 3:73s.
128,442 mi./ 4623 hrs. =27.78 Had 120k on it when I bought it.
On the other hand I have a tractor with a 12 vavle in it that has in excess of 8000 hrs

I forgot to add one small issue I had with it.Had a leaking ex manifold gskt on #6.Pretty easy repair.Too bad I bought and installed a turbo, had the intercooler press checked before I saw soot.Probably still got off cheaper than if I went to a dealership.$350 for the used turbo and $20 for the pressure check
