Engine hours vs. mileage on odometer
I remeber something about less then 30mph average is considered extreme duty and engine oil should be changed more. I guess it never gets up to temp to clear out the water in the oil and other contaminents. I would guess a good way to tell would be to keep a record of the hours per tank with the over head and then adjust the oil changes based on how the truck was driven the last few tanks.
109681 miles and 3169 hours, 34.61 mph. I guess that would be good for all the Houston traffic that I sit in. Someone said 10,000 hours before rebuild and I hope they are correct. That would put me at 346592 on the odometer. I would be really happy to get that far.
Well you figure big ag tractors can easily go for 10k hrs without a rebuild and thats at full throttle usually. So if our trucks aren't at full throttle 24/7, then it sounds like they really are "million mile" engines.
Just found this thread.... didn't know you could get the hours... I love this site, full of neat stuff
Mine is 79,922 and 1873 hrs = 42.67. I will take that, I usually do a weekley 800 mile round trip, and very little city maybe 50 per week.

Now it was a wild display, if you are pressing the trip odometer reset button when you switch the key from Off to run,(non-start).
All the gauges tested, the tach ticked all the way over and back, speedometer did the same all warning lights came one. It was wild, Tokyo saturday night.
