electrical connection on top of my rear diff?

There is an electrical connection on top of my rear diff (see sig for truck). What is it for? I don't have any gauges or any dummy lights that I know of relating to the rear diff. Is there a temp or oil level sensor or something on the diff for a dash warning light or something? Could it be used for a diff temp sensing gauge?

OK. Thanks. I figured those would be on the wheel hubs, rather than the diff.

No, it is a 3 channel ABS. Exciter ring is on ring is next to the ring gear, and a hall effect type sensor is mounted to the top of the housing.
