EGT's too high?

Under heavy acceleration I can only get up to about 55 MPH befor my EGT's get up around 1200 deg. Banks is on 3 and smarty is set on 2. Does this seem high to anyone? I think I might have a boost leak since I top out around 21 or 22 psi. and have been hearing kind of a whining or whisling sound under the hood. I noticed when I really get on it the boost climbs to about 22 psi and actually starts to drop even though the RPM's are still rising. The other thing is lately there has been an exhaust rattle that is coming from inside the muffler. I suppose its possible the internals of the muffler could of came loose and possible be restricting flow? Thanks for any help

sounds as though you have some sort of malfunction????

Id check all the tubing connections and give all the turbo plumbing and gasketed surfaces a good once over, if its all good you might delte the muffler with a temporary straight pipe to see if it helps,,,(seeings you already suspect a flow restriction there?????)

Could be the turbo is headed south??????

Does the Banks do boost fooling? Seems like it's not doing that. 1200 degrees is nothing to worry about either if that's as high as it gets.

I dont know if the banks does boost fooling but I do have a big head actuator. Before I noticed the whislting I always saw about 29-30 psi of boost. I doubt the turbo is going out, I just replaced it with a new one recently.(my dumb $800 mistake since i thought the noise was my turbo on its last leg) so now I have a perfectly good used turbo sitting on the shelf. As far as the EGT's go I usually let off the pedal when it hits 1200. Ive already taken it to 1400 and its still climbing.
