Exclamation ECM question

I think I may have a bad ECM, the reason, I've had a code p0088, changed the FCA and cleared that. I also got a p0628, changed the in-tank pump, no joy.....The truck will not turn the pump on. I can "jump" the relay at the box and make the pump & truck run. Is my ECM bad?? If I leave the "jumper" in, with a switch, will I hurt anything by doing this? This will be a temp. fix until I can get a ECM. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks...

I ran a heavy switch for one of my buddy's fuel pumps on a second gen... could not get the air dog to work for the life of us. Was a pretty good security device, too.

I'd run a good switch and leave it vice paying for a new ECM if that is all that is wrong.

First, I would verify all my wiring, get a volt meter out and check my voltages at the point of origin and destination... start with the cheap/free stuff first, don't let a small part or broken wire cost you loads of money.

Did you check the driver circuit to the ECM? When you bump the starter do you have power at the relay driver circuit? You did check the fuse?

Thanks, guys. I ran a switch and drove it home. About 3 miles from where I changed the parts. The wires to the circuit breaker is a 12 gauge wire, the breaker got really warm. So, I don't know if I'm hurting anything. I checked and rechecked the fuses and relays in the box. Where do I check the driver fuse thing you are showing me? Its kinda fuzzy on my phone.

I'll load the pic up on the laptop tomorrow and check a few more of the connections. Thanks again....it may be a day or so before I can report back.

My ECM is also warranted for life. But I'm sure they will charge you a diagnostic fee.

Wednesday night after talking to a friend of mine, I toom the truck to Tony. He called today and thinks my ECM is good. He thinks I took out (burnt) the circuit board in the fuse panel. He will take it apart in the morning and attempt a repair. I'll update as I get info. Kinda looking up!

Got the truck back!! All is well....I burned the ground in the PDM for the fuel pump relay. He soldered a new terminal and made a new ground.
