A dumb question about ECM flashes...
All of the TSBs I've seen that involve flashing the ECM, state something like "this bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Engine Control Module (ECM) with new software". Does this mean each such TSB calls for a different software patch that only addresses the subject of the TSB? Or does the ECM get reprogrammed from scratch, so any such TSB will in effect get you the latest and greatest of everything? I was thinking the latter, but the word "selectively" makes me question this.
Also, can the ECM be fully updated without getting the infamous E17 (Out of Park Alarm) recall in the process? Thanks, guys!

i believe they have to put your vin in to get the software for your truck then download to tool and then to truck and the way I understood was it erases and reprograms with the most current software for your truck and I believe it would give you the out of park alarm thats why I wouldnt bring my truck in for the battery temp fix dont want to risk gettin the horn honk because once you get it you cant go back
