Dual Mass Flywheel

A guy on a Mopar list I'm on said the 04's also have the now famous "dual mass flywheel" as do Brand F and C's diesels. I thought this was something new to Rams because of the G56. Anyone know for certain? If so, is this not a problem, afaik, for New Venture (New Process) but is for our new 6 speeds?

Only the G56 has the dual mass flywheel. The NV4500 and NV5600 has the single disk setup.

MikeyB is right. However, C and F have had it for awhile.

All you who complained of drivetrain clatter at tip-in have gotten what you wished for.

Glad I bought a 5600. I don't mind the G56, but the dmf is for people who should drive 1500 4.7L trucks.

Yup I got on the wagon before they were all gone. Still a few 5600 left out there but they are going fast. Especially in a truck equiped the way you want it.

My old Chevy 6.5tb had a dual mass, when it came apart it broke the bell housing, an extra $350 (jobber). No more dual mass for me. Good Luck!

Anybody got more info on this dual mass flywheel? Like how it works and what it does and why'd they go with this versus a normal flywheel.

I know all about driveline chatter - - drives me nuts, but I know I have a good tough tranny. So, I drive it and quit complaining - - well, almost quit complaining.
