Don't be a jerk!

Noticed my truck wants to jerk when set on cruise control going down a hill. What's the problem? It acts like it hesitates.

Mine does it when I have the programmer turned up... what are you running the edge on?

Mine has done it before with the cruise set. It's almost like it is trying to downshift.

Mine does it too. With or without the Smarty.

These trucks (mine at least) seem to slow down fairly well when you lift of the pedal. I have always connected the "Jerk" to the cruise control releasing the fuel quickly since there is no actual cable to control. Kind of hard to explain but I have reproduced it pretty close by just lifting off the pedal real fast but the computer can still do it faster!!

That's the cruise trying to maintain speed. If the hill is steep and long enough, it will also down shift.

I figured as much but the jerking is almost annoying to the point of shaking and/or hesitating.

Been like that since day 1 on my 07.
Always have to kick the cruise off on long downhills.
