O'm sure it is. Mine chirps almost ALL of the time. The Autio's do it more...as already stated. It may also have something to do with where you live. Maybe you High humidity folks dont get the chirp

I recently sold my '03 SO that started chirping at about 10,000 miles, and chirped EVERY time I shut it down for the next two years. I now have an '06 that hasn't chirped yet, but I'm holding out hope still

I've started to wonder about that noise. My truck has done it since I took it home last week. Exactly 500 miles on the odometer right now. Auto trans.

sometimes?

mine will do it some times but if it sits at idle for more than 5-10 sec. so the egts can come down it wont do it. If you kill it pretty quick after stopping the truck however it will do it every time.

My '93, '96, '99, '03 SO, and '4.5 all did it. The previous four only did it in warm weather, but the '4.5 does it all the time. Not an A/C related occurance; I never shut anything off with the A/C still on...

I chirp 95% of the time. I fugured it happened after the back of the belt shinned up from running on the tensioner?
I used to get comments all the time like "You better get your Belts checked out", I learned from a few people I talked to it was totally normal. So, I just smile and ingore people now.

Its the CTD squeek.....you must appreciate it because it will always be there....and the cummins is the only one i've heard do it...so it has something to do with the design of the belt system because 6.0L's don;t do it and they have high compression......but they're also ford's so that doesn't say much
