Arrow Does You"re Tail Shaft Leak????

Does your tail shaft leak? But, only when you're driving not sitting? Mine did. I thought like anyone else that it was the seal. So I removed my driveshaft and (thankfully) gently remove the seal. Went to a handfull of parts stores that didn't have it in stock. Well, now I was in a pickle! Then for some reason I had an revelation of sorts. I was looking at my seal and it wasn't bad at all. Hummmmmmm OH MY GOD!!!!! Check the T-case vent!!!!! Ya, it goes from the T-case all the way up 14 miles to the back of the motor and its rubber line! I removed it and cut it down to about 6 or 7 inches bent it to face down and wire tied it to the wire harness thats right there! GUESS WHAT??? No leaks! And it cost NOTHING!!!! It' just wasn't getting the proper venting!!! This is just a helpfull hint to all of thoes with simular STUPID problems like me! Good luck!

I had a Volvo that did this. A mud wasp packed the breather hose with mud. I cleaned out the mud and the leak stopped.

Be careful if you go through any deep water. The heat from the tranny will draw water into the tranny. On our rock crawlers we extend all the vents to keep water out of the diffs, tranny, and t-cases.
