The Exhaust out let is to far to the rear, it should be closer to the middle for equal flow of exhaust. the #5 port is restricted on the OEM manifold, the ATS piece improves this. Find a third gen guy to buy it and get one that will fit yours.

hmmm.

Marv--Thanks for the notes...

my buddy sold me the compound turbo setup off his 04 for a good deal....so i was planning on installing it on my 2nd gen...figuring i might be able to use the 3rd gen ATS manifold for this reason....

so i guess my question would be would it bolt up to the 2nd gen head...

if it won't work i guess trading a 3rd gen for a 2nd gen manifold would be the way to go... this piece was only used for 5k miles...light towing (snomobiles)

the manifold for all 3rd gen twins, is actually is a 2nd gen ats manifold. Identical. The manifold should work, but some chopping of the twins plumbing will have to be done to fit a 2nd gen

chopping...such as intercooler plumbing, etc? i take it's because of different placement of things?

I know for sure that the intake piping into the primary is different, air boxs are mounted in different spots, the rest of the piping, i dont know. Take a look at the twins on piers website, good pics of 2nd gen- 3rd gen set-ups
