do all 03' autos have the 48re?

do all 03' autos have the 48re?

i know some early 03' truck might have the 47re, but whats the deal on the 48re?? iam gettin ready to buy a 03 auto. and they said its a H.O, so should it be a 48re?

If it really is the H.O. it will have the 48re. There is a tag on the engine that tells you the horsepower if it says 305 it has the 48re. Do a search this has been brought up many times.

If it has a build date of after december of 02' it is a 48re no matter which engine it has. The 48re wasn't ready at the start of production in the 03' model year. So they used the SO/47re combo until the 48re was ready, then you could get either the SO/48re or the HO/48re. I am pretty sure it was december 02', cause I can remember the first one we got in was just before Christmas in 02'.

the build date is 12/02, so what would it be? somone just said if the 8th digit on the VIN is a "C" then it is a H0... and its not a C,,, i dont know what to do? i dont think i really want it if it has the 47re in it...

i found out, its built in 12/02. and has the 47re tranny in it... so iam steering away from it. also, previous owner had a wreck in it on left front damage, and whoever that fixed it got overspray on it. so it wasnt fixed back the best.
