Dim Lights on A/C Controls

The lights on my a/c and heat controller are dim and some appear to be out. If I tap on it, some of the lights get brighter, but soon dim again.

Does anyone know what's wrong and what I can do to fix this?

It has nothing to do with my dim switch.

Thanks,
Brian

If they change by tapping on them, it sure sounds like loose bulbs or connections. Take the dash apart and check, it's really pretty easy when you find the clip points. I haven't done it myself but my buddy took his apart in front of me in about 2 minutes.

Had the same problem with my '03. Take a paint stir stick and carefully pry the trim off of the dash and take the screws out that hold the a/c control panel in and the little bulbs are a twist-in design. I think they were about $5 each at the local Dodge house. The same bulbs exist in your instrument cluster....I know from experience!! They aren't that difficult to access either....just remember that TIME is your best friend when doing that job.
