Did 1st Oil change, engine seems to run smoother?

Ok all, just did first oil change at 3600 miles and put in Rotella 15-40. Cranked it up this morning and headed out, engine seems to run smooth! I am like how is this possible? Oil is oil, anyone ever notice this?

I also did my first oil change on my truck this week.
It does seem to run a bit smoother. I used Delo 400.
I also broke my new filter wrench from Geno's trying to break loose the factory filter....ended up cutting the fender skirt back and getting another wrench on it from the side. What a pain.

Just makes you feel better knowing you did a good thing for your truck. The break in oil might be a lighter grade also.

I also had to take the fender skirt off to get the filter off the first time I changed mine

why would you cut the innner fender when you can simple remove the intake air tube going to the turbo and have all the room you want?

The other filter wrenchs i had on hand only work from the side. It was freezing out also and I was in a hurry.
For a minute I thouht I was going to have to drive a screwdriver through the filster to breake it loose.

I bought an end cap wrench and have no problem with it when I use it with a 10" extention.

This is what I did after 20 minutes of fowl language and trying to manuever a strap wrench in there to get it. Had to go to Wal Mart to get an endcap. Funny, I thought it was the OEM was on there really tight too! From what it looked like to me there was no oil put on the filter o-ring, and it made a lot of squeaking noise when I took it off.

Yeah, the piece of mind of knowing there is new oil in the engine probably creates a mental illusion. Nice though.

My truck runs smoother and faster after I give it some lovin'

This is why I wash my client's cars after I'm done working on them.

Clean cars alway seem to feel beter to drive.

Funny how we feel in the car makes all the difference even though we know nothing is different.

Did ya remember to grease the front driveshaft? Remember, every 5K miles you need to stick a little grease needle in dere!
