No!

$1200-$1300 is a good deal. You can buy the brake kit for less than $800.

I paid $1589.00 installed at the dealer. That included an oil change, air filter & fuel filter change as well.

PT, I would like to know what dealer is going to install it for that price? Tysinger Dodge in Hampton Va will not. I have not seen one for under 1400.00 for my truck.

Tee,

I think that the dealer is trying to soak me then. 96.00 just for oil and filter change here.

92,

Any problems with your brake operation etc... A friend of mine just put a banks on his, though it is a 20002 manual he loves it. I would rather go with the recomended one but...

Does your set up have any specific features?

There are several people here that have bought the kit for less than $700, and I think one got it for under $600. The dealer should only charge $400-$500 for the install. Paying $1400 just for the parts is ludicrous.

You can get a Pacbrake PRXB from the DTR store for less than $1100. Install is pretty easy. I did mine by myself in my driveway.

Holy cow 2500.00 from another dealer they said 880.00 in labor, plus parts 1545.00 and dont forget the taxes. Cant be that tough to install, must be proud of the Jacobs I should be able to install whatever brake in one day correct? I do have tools and more than two thumbs.

Absolutely! The Pacbrake is the easiest 'cause there's no belt to mess with (it's compressed air operated, not vacuum). Like I said, I did mine on my own in about 6 hours, and I'm not a great mechanic and I work slow. I just have one of those $250 Craftsmen tool sets from Sears, too. If you do the Pacbrake, you can spread the install out over several days if you need to. The compressor, air tank, brake, and wiring can all be done at separate times without affecting normal operation of the vehicle.

PT,

Keep talking to me about your brake, liking it more and more. Where did you mount your compressor?

Compressor is mounter per the instructions in front of the intake horn:

Supplied air tank is behind the bumper on the driver side frame rail:

Switch is on the A-pillar next to my Commander:
