Question DC is frustrating!!!

I traded my 03 3500 48re in last week for a 04 3500 6 spd, just so I could install the jacobs exhaust brake, for towing in the mountains, and keep it all factory and under warranty. I bought the truck in TX, returning from CA, enroute to FL. When I get to the dealership in FL, and ask them to install the factory jacobs brake, they tell me Dodge has told them not to install anymore exhaust brakes and to return those that they have in stock. SO what gives with these people ??? Anybody got a clue to what's going on here?

There have been some exhaust leaks with the Jacob's unit.... it has resulted in some damage to the trucks.... If you have any direct mount exhaust brake you should check the clamp between the exhaust brake and turbo after installation and several warm up / cool off cycles.....

If you have an specific questions I'd be happy to answer....

That's a good price on an exhaust brake. But my question is how much of my warranty will be voided by putting it on? If I can put it on and only have the warranty on my exhaust voided, I don't care. That gives me an excuse to gut the muffler and the cat like I've been wanting to. But if they say then the warranty on the turbo, engine, etc. go as well, hell no!

This bothers me because one of the main reasons I want an exhaust brake is for the faster warm-up in cold weather, which extends engine life.
