Dash Indicator Features

Has anyone attemped to utilize the red "security" L.E.D. and the "service" part of the 4wd indicator. Of course this applies only to trucks that do not have these fetures. I would like to use the red LED for landing lights installed in the factory fog lamp holes in the bumper and the service indicator for a front diff locker ( If and when it becomes available) I think there must be a wire I can tap into to feed these indicators !

Sounds like allot of work only because the dash is a non serviceable unit. Those indicators are integrated into the cluster and the cluster itself controls when to turn them on/off. Making changes may include cluster fooling to keep from setting fault codes.

I sourced out a nice small brushed aluminum toggle with an led in the tip (for another project) that may work better. If you like I can send you the info.
