MPG in the range of 6 when pulling a little 27' 5er is something I consider to be a major problem.

Whad'a mean? ......lost me there. Do you mean that the Dodge/Cummins only gets 6 to 7 MPG pull'n a 27ft fith-wheel?

I got 13 MPG pulling our 32 foot 5er on a LONG trip. Something isn't right.

I agree with Superduty...something is wrong and you need to take the truck in. I got a worst of 13 US MPG and average 13.5-15MPG towing my 27' holiday trailer and mines not even broken in yet. I regularily tow through the Rockies to BC and rarely do just easy towing, speeds range from 90-120km/h (55-75mph) . I have an excel spreadsheet of my mileage since day 1 if anyone s interested just PM me.
