Cracked injector in lubbock area..anyone??

Hi
Im traveling thru lubbock Tx and I'm 500 miles away from home, randomly truck started to smoke gray like crap and knocked real bad until it died..(06 dodge CR) luckily I had some tools with me..I killed fuel to one injector at a time and when plugged #4 injector truck started and gray smoke disappeared, of course it missfires on #4 now but i could drive to the hotel, does anybody know if it would hurt the engine if I would drive home like this with fuel killed to #4 cylinder? I have spare injectors at home I could swap it there

Or anybody from Lubbock who could sell me one??

i wouldn't drive 500 miles with a dead hole, u haul truck and trailer is definitely cheaper...

Am fresh out of injectors but you might try spirit or frontier dodge, they are the same company but might be able to help, another place you might try here is diesel fuel service off of I-27 or Lubbock truck sales....diesel fuel service is probably your best bet....if you need anything PM me and I'll do what I can to help you out, I'm right in the middle of town so am close to everything.

Does anybody else have something to say about driving the truck on 5 cylinders? I just feel better if I would know because I did it for about 30 miles already!

If there is no fuel going into the cylinder there should be no damage. When you are using the engine for braking the fuel is shut off to the engine and there is no fuel going through the cylinders. To much heat is what causes most damage.

The only thing is there will be more vibration from the engine and will shake everything attached to the engine much more.
