Got the FASS pump installed so we'll see if the CP3S stays good.

They started on mine today, but called late this afternoon to say it's "taking a bit longer...".

Now THAT makes me nervous.

Scott...I think the book gives them and hour and a half but not sure. It does take some time though so I wouldn't worry or be looking to buy spare parts quite yet.

Dealer called, truck is ready. NOt only did they replace the Cp3, apparently I had a leak at the cylinder head, for which they replaced an O-ring, also under warranty.

Service advisor seemed a bit confused about that one, I'll have to take a look at the invoice tonight.

He cleaned up the engine compartment nicely. Gotta admit, looks like he did a good job. I'll know in the morning when I leave for work if there are any new leaks.

CP3 Leak

I have a 2004.5 that had a CP3 leak, and I my fuel pressure is 12 psi at idle and 5-7 at WOT and that is with my edge on number 1. I have a stock lift pump and always have more than 5 psi (which is the danger zone) and my CP3 still went out. By the way I have 30K miles and have had 2 programming updates, had the clutch pedal fixed twice, CP3, front hub, and rear u-joint. It is a good thing I love my truck, or I would have gotten rid of it a long time ago. I also have a BD OEM lift pump bypass system on the way. This way there will be no questions about my lift pump being the case of a CP3 failure in the future.

Mine just leaked, they never failed. I eliminated my lift pump with a FASS pump system about 250 miles ago. We'll see what happens. They factory lift pump seams to be an on going issue with the fuel supply problems. Superduty beat it in the ground and I have to agree with him. If the ligt pump does not fail it slowly looses its pressure and ghr ability. I noticed after draining the filter housing that the factory lift pump took 5 times longer to refill than the FASS pump & it's only the 95ghr pump!
