coolant leak from plugs on manifold

I have had coolant leaking around those plugs on the manifold.(on top right next to valve cover) They don't leak much, but it still annoys me. Dealer is supposed to get them replaced. Still under warranty. Anyone else had this problem?

Yes a year or two ago there was talk of it in some of the forums, on the 2003 model. There was
a TSB issued but I don't know the number, sorry.

not even that much is needed to get them to seal.. they are standard NPT pipe plugs. grab the right size tool and tighten them up a bit, or if you like, remove it, clean the threads, apply a little permatex #2 to the threads and reinstall it... i don't know how much coolent you will loose pulling the plugs though???

Just tighten them a little bit. Takes all of a few minutes and you won't even get your hands dirty!

Yup I had the same thing happen. Checked the 1/2" pipe plugs, passenger side of the block and loose as a limp wristed ....... Anyway torque the 1/2" plugs to 40 lbs. no more and use a torque if you haven't twisted pipe threads before...careful it is easy to mess up. While your at it check the 3/8" (one only, same side) should be 20 lbs. Hell when I first noticed this I checked all the **** bolts and found many loose or strong armed. Remember guys this engine is mass produced and transfered to mexico for install. Can't hurt to check on the one we love does it?
