Coolant Leak

Coolant Leak

i just noticed this morning that i have coolant leaking from somewhere but cant find the source. looks like maybe its coming from the belt area.... is this possible? or is that just from it blowing around under there?... any common leak areas... engine isnt running hot, but dont wanna be stranded..

If it looks like it is coming from the belt area, check the hose that goes from the radiator neck to the overflow bottle. It comes from the factory without a clamp on it. It will eventually leak if a clamp is not put on it.

Also look at the weep hole on the water pump.

i will check both of those out... but where exactly is the water pump on my truck?... that way i can find the weep hole.?

Right side of the engine, it has the smooth pulley.

well guys thanks for the help. went ahead and changed out the water pump, which turned out to be the culprit (i knew as soon as i got it off the block). The weep hole on the original was basically cold welded shut and the coolant was finding its way out behind the o-ring.

Its odd to me... the weep hole was full of debris that was hardened to almost steel like strength( i tried to poke at it with a screwdriver to get the gunk out of the hole, and had no luck)... however my coolant was not contaminated at all.

Ended up flushing the system with 15 gallons of distilled and followed AH64ID's write up on his coolant flush for a 50-50 mix using Zerez G-05.

ill post a pic of that water pump weep hole soon.
