So, not to hijack, but I have a coolant leak as well. Mine seems to be running down the back of the block though.

So, if I plug my truck in at night and go out in the AM I have a puddle of coolant. Once I start it and it the block warms up then there is no leak. To me it seems like that is going to be my head gasket, but I am hoping not. I am having a really hard time trying to find where it is coming from right now, which isn't making my life any easier. Does anyone have any other ideas besides a HG?

 

Crash, Climb under and run your finger around the small short hose behind the turbo. Bet it is wet with coolant. It doesn't take much and it runs down the back area of the block and looks like it would be the coming from the head gasket. You might be able to tighten the clamps and get by for a while. Mark

 

Me too but it's been 2 years.

 

Installed the new hose and clamps yesterday on the truck and so far so good no leaks. Didn't take very long and it was a nice break from all the chaos with all the family memebers over. Hope I don't have to worry about it leaking again!

 

I put the new parts on my truck this summer when I changed my coolant out. So far so good, no leaks through the fall when it usually starts leaking. I believe the smaller hose and spring clamps are just what the doctor ordered.
