Coolant Leak

So I have a small leak coming from the back of the block somewhere. I remember reading somewhere on here long ago about the freeze plug back there leaking but cant find it. I know about the tubes back behind the turbo and have tightened them up so they are not the case. It also leaks overnight only, but not all the time. Any info would be great, thanks all in advance.

Check the heater core pressure & return hoses & clamps at the rear of the block.

If the freeze plug is leaking (which I doubt), it won't be in there for very long!

If the plug was leaking it would be more of a constant flow then? I have tightened the hose between the hard lines before, but are you talking about where they actually go into the block?

Yes, check the hose between the hard lines.

If the freeze plug was leaking, the coolant system pressure would almost certainly blow it out in short order.

I bet if you drive easily enough to keep your auto truck below 2000 RPM you wouldn't have a leak... the water pump develops a pretty big head at RPM!

Many times leaks are only active at higher revs... it's easy to check visually with someone on the accelerator. I bet you'll find it before defueling RPM.

The heater hose like these guys mention is the culprit. About 3 inches long just behind the turbo on the back side of the motor. Dodge made a poor choice when they built this one. The replacement hose they use is quite a bit different than what you have now. Did mine under warranty.
