Computer and Air Bag Recall

Computer and Air Bag Recall
I finally had the air bag recall done. I was wondering how long it will take for the computer to reset so I can get the CA smog test done. I've gone twice to the smog station and have put 600 miles on the truck.
The smog guy says that the diesel's can take a lot of miles. The dealer had said 500 miles. I am planning some day trips. The only thing good is the "lie o meter" is reading over 20 mpg. Thanks, Bill

Ca
Yes they check the computer. I think they do a visible smoke test, different than the gas engine tail pipe test. Where I go they take it out of my sight after they check the computer. Someone I'm sure will chime in about the test. Bill

Found some useful information about our trucks
Turn the ignition switch to the “ON” position, but do not crank or start the engine. If you crank or start the engine, you will have to start this test over.
2. As soon as you turn the ignition switch to the ON position, you will see the MIL symbol come on as part of a normal bulb check.
3. Approximately 15 seconds later, one of two things will happen:
a. The MIL will flash for about 10 seconds and then return to being fully illuminated until you turn OFF the ignition or start the engine. This means that your vehicle’s OBD II system is not ready and you should not proceed to the E-Check station.
b. The MIL will not flash at all and will remain fully illuminated until you turn OFF the ignition or start the engine. This means that your vehicle’s OBD II system is ready and you can proceed to the E-Check station. Now I can check this before I waste more time at the smog station. I did this test and the MIL light flashed after the 15 seconds. Bill

Reflash per TBS 18-030-10
I found that TBS 18-003-11 that states: That if the Comprehensive Component Monitor is not "Ready" No sequence of driving events can cause the monitor status to change from "Not Ready to Ready" A ECM update per TBS 18-030-10 is required. When my truck was almost new the dealer did a update to the ECM and it changed the road speed that the torque converter unlocks from 45 mph from the factory to now 51mph. This caused less control down hills. Has anyone had the TBS 18-003-11 done to pass smog and did it create any negative changes ? Bill
