I'm the one that started the oh crap thread.My truck is in the cummins shop getting ready to have the engine rebuilt.It has the nv5600 tranny and stock clutch.It has 112,000 miles on it.In talking to service manager he said if I bought a new clutch they would install it free since they have it all disasembled.He looked at the clutch disc and said it was about half gone.He also said the flywheel had a couple of minor hot spots that could be turned out.What do you guys think?Also have read that the clutch hydraulics should be replaced.Is that really necessary or is that something that can be done when problems arise? So far I have had no probs with it at all.

If you have the money might be worth it. I just had a valair installed and really like it. Stock clutches tend to be weak so if its tore down then might as well do it.

 

I would definitely replace the clutch. I am a huge Valair fan too. Give Dan a call and he can give you a good recommendation and hook you up! I wouldn't do the hyraulics now unless you need them. It is a 15 minute project that can be done any time.
