Has anyone taken the chrome "hub-cap-like" piece off their third gen 17" rims? I've seen a few pictures of the aluminum rims painted black, and I like that look. I have two sets of rims, and I was wondering if that chrome piece can be pried off some how, allowing me to repaint the rim black again?

 

It just slips on over the lug nuts. You can pry it off and pop it back on with ease.

 

i removed mine...just pops off (you really got pull on it). im pretty sure they all come with steel wheels that are black. is it possible to get aluminum wheels from the factory? (talking DRW trucks)

 

Don't paint the chrome ones! They are worth $$ resale. I lost one and the dealer wanted $63.00 ea! Get the painted version and paint them instead!
