Cheep Fuel
Cheap Fuel
Two weeks ago I went to one of those no-name brand gas station. And filled up with some cheeeep diesel. Well it turns out it wasn't cheap after all. Next day after filling up, I'm on the highway and look at my fuel pressure and it is 20, 18, 14, 7, 19, 13, 4, 8, and it's jumping all over, from 0 to 20, acting like a wire needed tighten. I pull over, check pressure sender, wire is tight, cycle key, stock lift pump is running, hit the toggle switch and BD Axillary pump is running. Next I drain water from filter, start it up and fuel pressure is OK, 18-psi, this is low, (23-24 normal)but it's holden there. So now I'm thinking cheep fuel, maybe a little water, but everything running alright, I use up that tank of fuel to it hits the E. Fill up last week and now I'm down to 1/4 tank, last night I change the fuel filter and in-line strainer. My fuel pressure is holding at 24, I'll finish this tank and one more and change both filters again.

Can you see what looks like little grains of sand on filter?
Oh ya, It is a Baldwin fuel filter too.

This fuel filter was only in truck for 3 or 4 tanks of fuel. I'm not sure if you can see the dark spot, dead center low where fuel shoots in at filter. As I said in the beginning, this wasn't very cheap fuel. It could have been a lot more costly.
